SUPER SAGRADO VALLEY

We start the tour by picking you up from the door of your hotel in the historic center of Cusco and ends in the center of the city, in the Plaza Regocijo or Plaza San Francisco.

Between 06:00 a.m. and 06:30 a.m., we will pick you up at your accommodation. If you are in a remote area or in an Airbnb, we will coordinate a meeting point to leave Cusco at 07:00 am.

Our first stop will be Chinchero, a picturesque Andean village where, according to studies from the 1960s, remains of an ancient Inca palace buried by the Spanish have been identified. We will also visit an exhibition center of South American textiles and camelids, where we will learn about the ancestral weaving technique that still survives.

We will continue to Moray, an impressive archaeological site composed of circular terraces in the shape of an amphitheater, used by the Incas as an agricultural laboratory to experiment with microclimates and improve their crops.

Next, we will visit Maras, home of the famous salt mines, a collection of more than 5,000 salt ponds exploited since pre-Inca times. This impressive landscape will provide unique opportunities for photography and learning about artisanal salt production.

After the visit, we will head to the town of Urubamba, where we will enjoy a buffet lunch (optional) with a varied selection of local cuisine to replenish our energy.

With our stomachs satisfied, we will continue on to Ollantaytambo, a living Inca village that has been continuously inhabited since Inca times. Here, we will explore the imposing fortress of Ollantaytambo, strategically built on the side of a mountain, with agricultural terraces and perfectly assembled stone temples.

Our last stop will be Pisac, where we will have time to visit its handicraft market and admire the diversity of textiles, jewelry and ceramics. Then, we will explore its archaeological complex, considered a masterpiece of Inca agricultural engineering for its terraces and irrigation systems.

After the guided tour, we will board the bus back to Cusco, arriving around 7:00 pm.

We conclude our excursion to the Super Sacred Valley of the Incas in the Plaza San Francisco, located a few blocks from the Plaza de Armas in Cusco.
