Day 1: Arrival in Cusco – Acclimatization and Rest
Upon your arrival at Cusco airport, you will be welcomed by our team and transferred to the hotel for check-in. The rest of the day is dedicated to acclimatization, something essential to adapt to the altitude of the imperial city. You will have free time to rest and recharge, although if your arrival is early, you may take a light walk through the historic center and enjoy the Plaza de Armas or its colonial streets. It is recommended to stay well hydrated, avoid intense physical activity, and make the most of the calm of the first day. Overnight in Cusco.

Day 2: Sacred Valley of the Incas – Aguas Calientes
In the morning, we will begin our excursion to the Sacred Valley, starting with a visit to the picturesque town of Chinchero, famous for its handicraft market and its archaeological complex that combines Inca and colonial heritage. Next, we will head to Moray, an impressive Inca agricultural laboratory formed by circular terraces where the ancient inhabitants experimented with crops in different microclimates.

We will then continue to the Maras Salt Mines, a unique landscape with more than 3,000 salt pools that have been exploited since pre-Inca times. After this visit, we will head to Urubamba, where you will enjoy a delicious buffet lunch surrounded by beautiful Andean scenery.

In the afternoon, we will arrive in Ollantaytambo, known as the last living Inca city, where you will tour its archaeological complex and admire its temples, terraces, and narrow streets full of history. From here, you will board the panoramic train that will take you to Aguas Calientes, the town at the foot of Machu Picchu. Upon arrival, you will check into your hotel for the night.

Day 3: Machu Picchu – Cusco
Today you will experience one of the most anticipated moments: the visit to Machu Picchu. Very early, you will take the bus that will take you to the entrance of the citadel. Once inside, you will enjoy a guided tour of approximately 2 to 3 hours, visiting temples, plazas, terraces, and agricultural and ceremonial areas that reveal the ingenuity of the Inca civilization.

After the guided tour, you will have free time to explore at your own pace or, if you wish, climb Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain (optional, with prior reservation), from where you can enjoy spectacular views. Later, you will descend by bus to Aguas Calientes, where you can have lunch and rest before boarding the train back to Ollantaytambo. From there, private transport will take you back to Cusco for your overnight stay.

Day 4: Rainbow Mountain (Vinicunca) – Return
The day begins very early, around 4:00 a.m., with pickup from your hotel and the journey by tourist transport to Cusipata, where you will enjoy an Andean breakfast and a short rest before continuing to the starting point of the hike. From the town of Chillihuani, you will begin a walk of approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes until you reach the summit of Rainbow Mountain (5,036 m.a.s.l.), one of the most breathtaking landscapes in Peru.

Once at the summit, you will have time to appreciate the natural spectacle of its multicolored tones, surrounded by the majesty of the Andes. After enjoying the scenery and taking photos, you will begin the descent to Cusipata, where a comforting lunch awaits you. Finally, you will return to Cusco around 5:00 p.m.

Depending on your flight time, you will have free time before the transfer to the airport, where you will board your return flight, thus concluding an unforgettable experience in Cusco, Machu Picchu, and Rainbow Mountain.

MACHU PICCHU CIRCUITS: DETAILED INFORMATION

Machu Picchu has three main circuits, designed to offer you a unique and well-organized experience, avoiding crowds at the most popular spots. Each circuit is structured to explore different areas of the Inca citadel. Below, we detail each one:

CIRCUIT 1: PANORAMIC VIEW (IDEAL FOR ICONIC PHOTOS)

This circuit allows you to enjoy the best panoramic views of Machu Picchu. It is perfect for those who want to capture the classic postcard shot from the Guardian’s House, but it does not include access to the interior of the citadel.

  • Route 1-A: In addition to the panoramic tour, it includes a hike to the summit of Machu Picchu Mountain. The climb takes about 3 hours (round trip).
  • Route 1-B: Visit the Guardian’s House and the upper sector of Machu Picchu for spectacular photos. A short 40-minute tour.
  • Route 1-C: Hike to Intipunku (Sun Gate), a strategic point where Inca Trail hikers get their first glimpse of the citadel.
  • Route 1-D: A panoramic tour that includes a visit to the Inca Bridge, a fascinating structure located on the mountainside.

CIRCUIT 2: COMPLETE EXPLORATION (RECOMMENDED AND MOST DEMANDED)

This is the most complete circuit and allows you to explore both the inner sectors of Machu Picchu and the most emblematic spots. It is ideal for those who want a full experience.

  • Route 2-A (Classic): Visit the most important points such as the Temple of the Sun, the Intihuatana, the Sacred Rock, the Temple of the Condor, and the Guardian’s House viewpoint for the famous classic photo.
  • Route 2-B (Lower Terrace): Similar to Route 2-A, but without access to the Guardian’s House viewpoint. From a lower terrace, you can capture views similar to the classic photo.

CIRCUIT 3: LOWER AREA TOUR (HISTORY AND EXCLUSIVITY)

This circuit is designed for those who want to explore less crowded areas and discover exclusive sectors, especially those dedicated to Inca royalty.

  • Route 3-A (Huayna Picchu Mountain): Combines Circuit 3 with a hike to the summit of Huayna Picchu Mountain, where you’ll enjoy breathtaking views and encounter archaeological remains. The hike takes about 2 hours (round trip).
  • Route 3-B (Inca Royalty): Explore the areas built for royalty, with a special focus on architectural details. It does not include the classic citadel views.
  • Route 3-C (Great Cave): Includes the lower circuit and a visit to the Temple of the Moon, a mysterious structure located inside a natural cave on Huayna Picchu Mountain.
  • Route 3-D (Huchuy Picchu Mountain): Offers a hike to the summit of Huchuy Picchu Mountain, a more accessible option than Huayna Picchu but equally impressive.

Important: To add Circuit 2 to your Machu Picchu visit, check availability or book in advance. This is the most recommended circuit due to its broad coverage of the citadel. Combining panoramic views with the most significant archaeological sites, it is ideal for those who want to explore the highlights of Machu Picchu.
