The excursion begins with a transfer from the hotel in Cusco to the train station located in the town of Poroy. From there, travelers board the tourist train bound for the town of Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu Pueblo), on a scenic journey of approximately three and a half hours.
Upon arrival in Aguas Calientes, an assigned guide will be waiting to accompany visitors to the bus station. The ascent then takes place along a winding road leading to the Historic Sanctuary of Machu Picchu, also known as the Lost City of the Incas, one of the modern wonders of the world.
Entry to the archaeological complex is made after passing the official checkpoint. The guided tour then begins through the most emblematic sectors of the Inca citadel, such as the Main Square, the Circular Tower, the Royal Quarters, the Temple of the Three Windows, and the funerary areas. The guided visit lasts approximately two hours and offers a deeper understanding of the history and architecture of this remarkable site.
At the end of the tour, visitors descend once again to Aguas Calientes, where they will have free time for lunch in one of the many local restaurants (lunch not included).
In the afternoon, the return train is boarded back to Poroy station, following the same route as the outbound trip. Upon arrival, the final transfer to the hotel in Cusco is carried out, thus concluding the tour services.
